Comic Relief

The secular media have recently attacked a Catholic school for refusing to participate in Comic Relief fund-raising activities. Comic Relief will state in their offical response to questions from Catholics that none of their money goes towards supporting abortions in the Third World. Strictly speaking that is true. What they don't say is that they do support organisations that promote abortions. It is also clear that they give large sums of money to organisations that explicitly attack the Catholic Church on this issue. For example last year Comic Relief donated £637,054 to One World Action.
One World Action sponsors a report called "Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Central America - an agenda for action". Anyone reading it would be hard-pressed to defend One World Action against the charge that it is both virulently anti-Catholic and aggressively pro-abortion.
for a fuller account I recommend a quick visit to the article posted by Fr Tim Finigan over at the Hermeneutic of Continuity.
